A global short story prize like no other.

The Hope Prize, is calling for submissions on the themes of hope, courage and resilience from all over the world.

Submission can be memoir, fiction or non fiction and they must be between 2,000 and 5,000 words in length.
Submissions can be about anything you like and the only requirement is that your piece speaks to the themes of hope, courage or resilience as they resonate with you.

We are looking for creative, brave and compelling writing that celebrates the human spirit.

The winning entry will receive a prize of $10,000 AUD, sponsored by Simon & Schuster Australia.
Second and third-place prizes, sponsored jointly by Readings and The Hope Prize, are $2,000 AUD and $1,000 AUD, respectively.

Simon & Schuster Australia will publish an anthology of winning and highly commended submissions. All royalties from the anthology, to be published in 2024, will be donated to Beyond Blue, an Australian mental health charity. The collection will be available in Australia and by print-on-demand internationally.

Hope is like the air we breathe; without it we are lost.
